The subject of my work is contemporary landscape and the built environment. My preoccupation is with the eastern plains of the city and its estuary. I paint buildings and make sculpture.

During the site clearance of 2008 I penetrated the Olympic Zone by canal to photograph the changing landscape and to document a number of buildings which were about to be demolished. A group of paintings emerged from the excursion including Tate Moss, Flyover, and Lock.

My proposition is to build a full sized replica of a fragment of the building Tate Moss.

The work will be a monument to the industrial life which preceded the Olympic project as well as a fully functioning building shell which could be put to a number of  uses related to the Olympic Zone and its history; visitor centre / cinema / gallery.

Our aim is to form a massive unpredictable abstract sculpture from a stack of known cultural landmarks that would be Visible across the 246 hectare site as an iconic symbol of all artistic achievement in London. In order to do this we wish to go outside the limitations of enclosure "a bit like being on the edge of a forest". We employ a bunch of straight lines with dynamic angles from copied London and regional gallery facades, as beams creating an open structure…

The sculpture will be engaging both by performance of the skateboarders and climbers and educational as to techniques above all is fun! It will act as a counterpoint to the competitive sports of the Olympics as a fun structure all inclusive. A tethered balloon a temporary eye catching item that can be taken away after the Olympics has been completed.

A complexity is made out of normal / conventional anonymous situations redefining / retranslating past to present.

The sculpture will contrast with sleek futuristic forms of the London Olympics, intentionally building on the idea of the unfinished building in terms of appearance.

The sculpture will be a spectacle that might react with feelings moods and emotions creating a sense of desire to be in it, on it and encompassed by it all; Synonymous with la tour Eiffel, Tatlin tower, skylon and some of the most exuberant Russian constructivist structures for example the sputnik monument Kiev.
